The Moment You’ll Always Remember

There are many “firsts” that we remember: our first kiss, our first love, our first relationship etc. The first time we have sex is no different. Everyone wants to envision their first time being with the person they love set in this romantic environment. There is no reason why your first time having sex shouldn’t be special.

Teenagers and young adults these days are becoming more exposed to the pressures of having sex at a young age. During these pressured times, it’s important to remember what’s important and to stay true to who you are. You don’t need to be like everyone else and you’re the only person that gets to say when you’re ready. If you want to wait for the right person at the right time, then do it. Follow your beliefs and make sure that you’re first time is one that you’ll always remember.

Your first time shouldn’t be robbed because of a drunken night or because of an after-prom tradition. Peer pressure should never be the reason for consenting to have sex! The first time should be something special and should be a moment that brings butterflies to your stomach.

More importantly, you must think twice before engaging into sexual intercourse as one wrong move can change your life. The problem with teenage sex is that most teenagers have to face the fallout of unprotected sex that could lead to teenage pregnancy or STIs.  Surely, this is not the time to face parenthood, so think twice as your teenage life can be more fun and exciting even without sex. You can venture to other forms of intimate gestures – hugging or kissing, for instance! If you’re not ready for sex and the consequences that come with it then don’t do it.

It can seem difficult to change the perceptions of most teenagers regarding sex but proper guidance and sex education can actually help them. Talk to friends and family to gain support. Don’t feel uncomfortable talking to your parents or friends about your curiosities. Their advice can back your decision about whether or not to have sex.

You shouldn’t rush sex. Don’t ruin your life by rushing things too soon and make every moment count. Enjoy your first time when it comes at the right time and with the right person. Make sure that your first time is a moment that you’ll always remember.
